Crystal Starr: "Head Over Heels" (Feature/Interview)

When did you first realize your ability to sing?

I first realized my ability to sing when I was 3-years-old.

What is your music and message all about?

My message and prayer are that my music brings people joy and love. I love seeing the joy on people's faces when they hear a song of mine that may have brought them peace at some point in their lives.

How would you describe your vocal style?

I describe my voice as pretty powerful with a fun and modern twist. So whatever that means to the listener I leave it up to them.

How did you come up with your latest single "Head Over Heels”?

I wrote my latest single “Head Over Heels”  about the power of everlasting love like my grandparents, who were married for over 50 years. The type of love that doesn’t fade, envy, or leave when someone gets upset at one another. The type of love that is not selfish and self-seeking. My grandparents didn't just cancel each other when they disagreed. They worked through it and respected each other.

What is one feeling you want to leave listeners with?

One feeling that I want to leave my listeners with is Joy.

How do you prepare for your live performances?

I prepare for my live performances by trying to stay in my quiet place. It's in my quiet space that I begin to see the vision of the show and what I would like to portray in the show. My performances are always well planned out (Sometimes I try to add a surprise element to them). It's like going to a Broadway show. You'll get a beginning, middle, and end story. I try to take my audiences on a journey.
