Yana Obretenova: 'Path of sunlight' (Exclusive Interview)
What is the most important thing you want your fans to know about you?
The most important thing I want my fans to know is that I stay true to myself and I follow no music trends. The music I make comes from the bottom of my heart, it is really personal and I am completely devoted to it.
What is your recording process like?
Writing my music is really spontaneous and when I do it just comes in whole sentences and I know exactly what I want to say with it. As for the recording process, I record with my producer/Mihail Donchev/ with whom I have the luck to work with because he understands my music and does everything possible to present my ideas and improve them in the best possible way.
What do you want your audience to feel when they listen to your music?
We all understand feeling in a complete different way. I think that my audience can connect with my music on a deeper level. We all find ourselves in a non-identical state of mind and as for feeling I think every person from my audience will experience it personally .
How would you describe your genre and sound?
Well.. that is a really hard question! I would describe as Neo-Soul with with some experimental RnB and jazzy sounds. It is hard for me to define it but the one thing I can guarantee is that it has my individual personal sound and you can understand that with the first 30 seconds of listening to “Path Of Sunlight”.
What are your goals and aspirations for 2023?
My goals for 2023 are to release my EP “Faze” and to reach more people globally because think there are a lot of people out there who can connect and vibe with my music.
