EJ Brockett: " Mama" (Feature Interview)

EJ Brockett: " Mama" (Feature Interview)

What is the most important thing you want your fans to know about you?

The most common thing I want my fans to know about me is that I love music and that music is the reason I’m alive and keep pushing hard in life no matter how hard life gets or what obstacles I have. I want them to know that I put my pain into my music and everything I’ve been through in life I channel into the music and getting forward with me music career

What is your recording process like for this song?

My recording process for this song was centered around the fact of showing appreciation to my mom for what she’s helped me get through and do for me. I channeled that energy into this song so even though I called her on Mother’s Day wishing her a happy Mother’s Day this was also a present to her. She hasn’t heard it yet but when she does I hope she’ll cherish it. I recorded this song in my dad’s basement. Originally I made this song but on a different beat and different vocals about a year prior but because of ownership and composition I decided to re-record it and had a different beat produced and in this version I put more of a spin to it.

What do you want your audience to feel when they listen to your music?

When the audience listens to my music I want them to feel like they’re not alone and like they can get through anything they put their mind through no matter how hard or depressing life gets through. The way Juice WRLD made me feel I want people to feel the energy and more. I want people to feel like I left my heart and my emotions and my feelings of emptiness and loneliness on the mic to spread the word to masses. The way a Pastor goes on stage or the podium to preach I want my music to be a sermon in a way of lifting people up with music and the feeling. Nobody should feel alone and even if you do feel alone then you should know that you’re not alone at all.

How would you describe your genre and sound?

I would describe the genre im going into as Pop/R&B with an open ended emotional sound and experience. The vocals take the front seat and the feeling gets you consumed.

What are your goals and aspirations for 2025?

My goals and aspirations for 2026 is to release more music that makes people feel alive as well as I want to grow a fanbase that rocks with my music and the message I put out there into the world.
