Italy's Rising Star ANTEA: Exclusive Interview

Italy's Rising Star ANTEA: Exclusive Interview

What inspires your music?

My music was inspired by the need to express a message to the  world: we are free and we are love. Since I was a child I felt this  inside me, searching for answers about humanity, and looking at  modern society. I think that urges are an act of kindness and  unification, and all of this can happen through music. For me  music it’s the expression for the soul, so sounds and voices  combine together to do all of this.

How did you start your professional recording career?

At the age of 7 my mom introduce me to the study of music  studying piano, because she noticed my propense to rhythm and  sounds. After few years at 12 years old I wrote my first song at piano  and then I continue my study to the Saint Louis College of Music in  Rome, where I graduated in Singing and Composing with a votation  of 110 cum laude/110. While the college years I did many lives all  over Italy, like the opening of the Jean Michael Byron’s concert ( ex  singers of the TOTO) for the Festival Rock in honor of Steven Tyler, I  worked as co starring in the Musical “L’Audizione” written and  directed by Vittorio Matteucci, the “Frollo” of the Musical “Notre  Dame de Paris”, and did many collaborations with great personalities  of Italian TV. I’ve also worked as a pianist for the film shooting of the  new Avengers Thor’s film “Thor: Love and Thunder”, with the  participation of Natalie Portman on the set in Ostia Antica (Rome). I  wrote a great numbers of songs and film scores and I published my  first single “You’re the Light (of the World)” in May 2021 thanks to I  won two important Italian awards, one for as an artist and one for the  official videoclip. In the 13th Genuary 2023 it’s out my second single  “Wicked Time”.

How did you come up with your single and/or EP?

My second single “Wicked Time” it’s distributed by an important  label, Artist First, with the work of my Management called “Sorry  Mom!” in Milan and the executive producer and co manager Rosanna  Morrone, who is also the director of the official videos of my two  singles. Both obtained a great consensus by the public, newspapers and  important music blogs; the publication of “Wicked Time '' was exclusive on the important Rock Music site "RockOn ".

What is your genre of music?

I think I have a rock soul and my voice has typical R&B and  soul’s vibes, so I can affirm that my genre is Soul Rock.

Who are your influences?

I grew up listening the Opera. I loved the soprano Maria Callas  and listening all the classical music as well, most of all piano and  orchestral classics. Then I start listening to the average of Pop, Rock  and Progressive, like the Beatles, the Queen, the Pink Floyd, the Muse  and most of Italian songwriters. I particularly loved in my teen years  all the great singers like Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera and the  great Aretha Franklin, and the sounds of Fado music, listening most of  all the awesome Dulce Pontes. My style it was surely influenced by  the Pink Floyd and the great melodies of the black music, with the  energy of Rock.

How do you define success?

For me, success is when I touch as many people’s hearts as  possible with my messages and love through the energy of my music,  and to follow my concerts to living together with emotions and new  worlds.

What can we expect from you in 2023 and beyond?

2023 will bring many news and concerts, and maybe a new single or an album! This year will also be my first book written by me on my studies of the correlation between music and Quantum physics.
