Emily Paquette: "Rain" (Feature/Interview)

Emily Paquette: "Rain" (Feature/Interview)

What inspires your music?

Nature is a common theme in my music. I find nature and weather very beautiful, and it inspires me to write. My song "Rain" is an example! I am also most inspired by my feelings and how I experience them. When I am feeling strong emotions, there are usually many thoughts running through my head, and it can get overwhelming for my mind sometimes. So, it helps to write my thoughts down.

How did you start your professional recording career?

I have spent a lot of time sharing my music online, and through social media. Around a year ago, Roy Hamilton III from The Singer's Company reached out, and since then, we have been working together on my music!

How did you come up with your single and/or EP?

I initially came up with the idea for "Rain" during my lunch break at school. It was raining that day, and I just wrote whatever came to my mind as I watched the rain fall.

What is your genre of music?

Pop!

Who are your influences?

Some of my musical influences include Tori Kelly, Taylor Swift, and Ariana Grande.

How do you define success?

For me, success is improvement and working toward the best version of myself.

What can we expect from you in 2022 and beyond?

I am very excited to continue sharing my original music, from now and into the future! I have many songs that I would love to share with the world!
