JoJo Kali (Feature/Interview)

What inspires your music?

My music is mostly inspired by the rock genre but I also love composing pop ballads.

How did you start your professional recording career?

I started performing live when I was 15 years old and later on when I got to the conservatory that I am currently studying I started writing songs but I wasn’t sure if I should give them to the world yet or not but my teacher advised me to just release them and see what may or may not happen, then in the future, I will see myself developing more and more through this.

How did you come up with your single?

The first recordings of my own songs happened this year, my single is about anxiety and panic attacks and I wrote this song to help me put my experiences into paper, and I know that I am not the only one going through these situations so it’s also a way to connect with other people.

What is your genre of music?

I believe my genre is rock, of course, I write some pop songs as well but I’ve been singing rock since I was a child and that’s where I come from and that’s what I want to do, but at the same time I never know what will happen in the future. Music comes in so many different styles and languages and it’s all beautiful.

Who are your influences?

My main influences though are Blues Pills, Halestorm, and Pretty Reckless. Success, well success has a big meaning and is different also for everyone.

How do you define success?

I believe that success for me personally is being able to live through music and being able to connect with people through my songs because I could not imagine myself doing anything else except music.

What can we expect from you in 2022?

This year I plan to release two more songs so far, and also start teaching, and who knows what else life might bring, we’ll see.
